Trust You Scheme

The MCCAA Trust You scheme is designed to strengthen trust between consumers and traders, enabling consumers to purchase products and services with greater confidence. It promotes and safeguards consumer interests by identifying businesses that commit to a code of conduct focused on fair and responsible trading practices.

The scheme is voluntary, free of charge, and open to both large and small businesses offering goods or services to consumers. Participants agree to abide by a Code of Conduct which includes:

Promote a customer-friendly relationship.
Conform to all relevant regulations.
Ensure that the premises are accessible and safe.
Advertise and provide information in a way that does not mislead potential customers.
Understand customer requirements and advise accordingly.

Indicate and quote prices that are all-inclusive.
Adhere to agreed commitments.
Ensure that all complaints are dealt with in a timely manner.
Avoiding if possible that disputes are referred to the Consumer Claims Tribunal by opting for resolution through mediation.
Provide an adequate after-sales customer service.

Businesses wishing to join may apply online. Approved members receive a certificate and Trust You stickers, which must be clearly displayed at their premises, with updated stickers issued annually. Members who fail to comply with the Code of Conduct may be removed or suspended from the scheme.
